Members of the public are welcome to attend all meetings and comment on any item being considered by the council.   Public comment is limited to three minutes and any presentation or materials to be presented during a public hearing, or during public forum, must be submitted and reviewed by the City Manager's Office at least 24 hours prior to the start of the meeting.

The Southlake City Council consists of seven members, including the Mayor, all elected at large by Southlake residents. The Mayor and Council Members are elected for three-year terms (unless elected in a special election due to a resignation) and no member may serve more than two successive elected terms. Elections are held in May of each year, with no more than three places scheduled for any single year unless there are resignations.
